Networking Event: Fossil-free cities – Blending public and private expertise & finance to implement SECAPs

Where? Brussels

When? January 21, 2025 9:30 am

Smart EPC, Covenant of Mayors Europe, Smart Cities Marketplace

Meet and be inspired by cities that have set their public lighting, housing and district heating & cooling on a climate-neutral trajectory thanks to their cooperation with private investors, companies and financing institutions.

Without private expertise and finance, without citizens on board, and without strong support from national and EU institutions, implementing Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) becomes a Herculean task. Faced with this challenge, many cities are getting outside of their comfort zone, launching collaborative partnerships with the private sector and with motivated people willing to drive change in their territories.

Join this event to discover how cities are reducing their dependence on fossil fuels in the field of street lighting, housing and district heating & cooling thanks to innovative partnerships and projects. Benefit from short and practical training, case studies, hands-on methodologies and tools. Enjoy the networking sessions that will leave you enough time to get to know your peers and to explore the variety of approaches to the very same challenge.

Discover the Agenda.

This event is co-organised with the Smart EPC project (Horizon 2020) and the Smart Cities Marketplace.
