Eigersund kommune

Administrasjonssenteret i kommunen er Egersund.  Eigersund er kjent for fajanse og fiske, og har i dag en av Norges største fiskerihavn. Eigersunds næringsliv er i stor grad relatert til det maritime industrimiljøet. De siste årene har Eigersund kommune jobbet spesielt med å styrke næringslivet for å sikre både jobber og bostedsattraktivitet, blant annet gjennom prosjektene  Mulighetskommunen Eigersund og  Næringsaktiv kommune.

Eigersund-aktørene Magma Geopark og Samfundets kole har vært en aktiv del av EU-prosjektet ESTEAM, finansiert gjennom Erasmus+. Prosjekt handlet om undervisningsmetodikk, digitale verktøy og naturopplevelser, og varte fra 2016-2019. Fokuset lå på innhold og opplevelser for elevene, med mål om å oppmuntre til økt interesse for naturvitenskap, og økt kunnskap blant lærere. Mulige problemstillinger og tema for fremtidige EU-prosjektsamarbeid for Eigersund er balnt annet energi og klima, maritimt, bioøkonomi og kystturisme.

The administration center in the municipality is Egersund. Egersund is known for faience and fishing, and has one of Norway’s largest fishing ports. Eigersund’s business life is largely related to the maritime industrial environment. In recent years, Eigersund municipality has worked specially to strengthen the business community to ensure both jobs and residential attractiveness. Among other things they have launched the projects “Opportunity municipality Eigersund” and “Industry-active municipality”.

The Eigersund actors Magma Geopark and Samfundets school have been an active participation of the EU project ESTEAM, funded through Erasmus +. The project was about teaching methodology, digital tools and nature experiences, and lasted from 2016-2019. Increased interest in science, and knowledge creation among teachers were the aims of the project. Possible topics for future EU project cooperation for Eigersund are, among others, energy and climate, maritime, bioeconomy and coastal tourism.
