Kvitsøy kommune er en øykommune som ligger midt ute i Boknafjorden mellom Randaberg og Karmøy. I flatemål er Kvitsøy den minste kommunen i Norge med sine 6, 29 km2.

Kvitsøy er grønn og frodig, men uten skog. Høyeste punkt ligger 25 m over havet.

Landbruk er den største primærnæringen på Kvitsøy. Den maritime produksjonen har foruten tradisjonelt fiske og fangst av hummer og høvring, oppdrett av hummer, kamskjell og laks. I tillegg er det en rekke andre produksjonsbedrifter, blant annet innen industri og håndverk. Kommunen huser også flere små og store bedrifter innen bygg og anlegg, handel og service.

Kvitsøy har dessuten en rik  historie i form av kulturminner og tradisjoner. De største severdighetene på øya er Kvitsøy fyr, Kvitsøy kirke, Steinkorset, Kvitsøy Trafikkstasjon, Hummermuseet og en rekke muligheter for vannaktiviteter. Kvitsøy har også gode møte- og arrangementfasiliteter.

Kvitsøy municipality is an island municipality located in the middle of the Boknafjord between Randaberg and Karmøy. In terms of area, Kvitsøy is the smallest municipality in Norway with its 6.29 km2.

Kvitsøy is green and lush, but without forest. The highest point is 25 m above sea level.

Agriculture is the largest primary industry on Kvitsøy. In addition to traditional fishing and catching of lobster and hake, maritime production includes lobster farming, scallops, and salmon. In addition, there are a number of other production companies, including in industry and crafts. The municipality also houses several small and large companies in industries such as construction, trade, and service.

Kvitsøy also has a lot of history attached to it, both in the form of cultural monuments and traditions. The most important attractions on the island are Kvitsøy lighthouse, Kvitsøy church, Steinkorset, Kvitsøy Traffic Station, the Lobster Museum, and the possibility of a range of water activities. Kvitsøy also has great conference facilities.
