Rogaland fylke ligger sørvest i Norge og har rundt 482.000 innbyggere. Fylket er Norges fjerde største i folketall. Rogaland består av 23 kommuner, fordelt på Jæren, Nord-Jæren, Ryfylke, Haugalandet og Dalane. Administrasjonssenteret ligger i Stavanger.
Rogaland fylkeskommune er en av fylkets største arbeidsgivere med rundt 4000 ansatte. Fylkeskommunen utfører hver dag oppgaver for de som bor og arbeider i Rogaland fylke.
Rogaland fylkeskommune utvikler regionen ved å legge forholdene til rette for næringsutvikling og verdiskaping gjennom prosjekter, veiledning og finansieringsordninger.
I 2020 ble ny Nærings- og Innovasjonsstrategi vedtatt. Den ble utarbeidet ved bruk av EUs metode for smart spesialisering. Strategien er ikke et statisk dokument, og skal endres i takt med behov som oppstår og erfaringer som høstes underveis i arbeidet med ny strategi. På bakgrunn av smart spesialisering-analyser og den omfattende involveringsprosessen har strategien tre tematiske satsingsområder som skal prioriteres:
- Ren energi og maritim framtid
- Mat
- Reiseliv og opplevelse
Rogaland fylkeskommune utmerker seg også som en av de mest aktive fylkene i Norge når det gjelder EU-prosjekter. Deltakelsen iblant andre fyrtårnsprosjektet Triangulum skapte godt omdømme for fylket som prosjektpartner, og har siden ført til deltakelse i flere spennende EU-prosjekter, deriblant:

Rogaland fylkeskommune har også ansvar for ansvar for samferdsel i fylket, videregående opplæring, og tannhelsetilbud.
Rogaland County is located in the south-west of Norway and is home to around 482.000 inhabitants. The County is the fourth largest measured by population. Rogaland consists of 23 municipalities, distributed across the regional divisions Jæren, North-Jæren, Ryfylke, Haugalandet and Dalane. The administrative centre is Stavanger.
Rogaland County is one of the county’s largest employers with around 4,000 employees. The county municipality performs tasks every day for those who live and work in Rogaland.
Rogaland County develops the region by creating favourable conditions for business development and value creation through projects, guidance, and financing schemes.
In 2020, a new Business development and Innovation strategy was adopted by the Rogaland County Council. It was developed using the EUs Smart Specialization methodology. The strategy is not a static document and will be updated regularly as new needs and priorities occur, and according to the experiences that are gathered through the implementation process. Based on smart specialisation-analyses and the thorough involvement process of relevant actors and stakeholders, the strategy has sought out three thematic focus areas which will be prioritized:
- Clean Energy and a Maritime Future
- Food
- Tourism and Experience
Rogaland County also excels as one of the most active Counties in Norway when it comes to participation in EU-projects. Rogaland participation in amongst others the lighthouse project Triangulum created a good reputation for the county as a project partner, and has since then led to several other exciting projects, such as:

Rogaland County Municipality is also responsible for transport in the county, upper secondary education, and dental health services.
