UiS (University of Stavanger) and Egersund are stepping into the digital future with an innovative project to speed up business case processing, starting with the construction industry. The project is funded by the Interreg North Sea Region program and aims to simplify administrative procedures and case management, making it easier and more efficient for local businesses and municipalities.
A Smarter Solution for Businesses
Right now, the process regarding business applications, dialogue, and filling out forms, is long and time-consuming. “Data for All” wants to change this, by collecting the necessary information on one digital platform. Ideally, companies will have the opportunity to briefly describe their project, press one button, and let the system automatically collect the necessary information. The construction industry will be the pioneer in testing this digital solution. With these improved data-sharing practices, the system would contribute to faster approvals, reduced paperwork, and greater transparency.
Powered by Interreg and European Collaboration
This initiative is made possible through funding from the Interreg North Sea Region program. This EU tool raises cross-border cooperation, addressing shared regional challenges. By supporting projects like this, Interreg helps regions develop innovative solutions addressing the specific needs of local industries while enhancing public services
Strengthening the Stavanger Region
For our region, this project is an important step forward in creating a more business-friendly environment. The ‘Data for All’ initiative at UiS and Egersund, will not only support local businesses and municipalities, but also enhance our region’s tradition as a hub for innovation and technology. As a pilot initiative, the project is expected to lay the groundwork for an even broader implementation across both new sectors and borders.
Building Bridges Across Borders
This project highlights the importance of collaboration between European regions, showing how shared knowledge and resources can drive meaningful change. Both UiS and Egersund’s participation in this EU-supported initiative underlines the value of working together to create smarter, more efficient solutions for local challenges.
